Finals preview of Spikers’ Turf matches Thursday

Cagayan Valley and PLDT warm up for their Spikers’ Turf championship duel when they clash Thursday on the last day of the semifinal round at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Both teams are already assured of final berths after sweeping past Air Force and Cignal early in the round-robin semifinals, but the Rising Suns and Ultra Fast Spikers are both determined to gain momentum heading into their title duel on Sunday.

Air Force and Cignal meet in their own preview of the third place battle in the tournament presented by Mikasa.

The Rising Suns responded to the challenge in a nip-and-tuck fifth set the last time they faced the Ultra Fast Spikers. They took the top seeding in the semifinals with a 6-1 card.

The Ultra Fast Spikers are hoping to become the second PLDT team in the finals, after their women counterparts coached by Roger Gorayeb reached the title series in the Shakey’s V-League against Army. The best-of-three series is tied at 1-1. Cedelf P. Tupas
