BONG Quinto knocked in Letran’s last four points as the Knights slipped past St. Benilde, 68-64, to climb to solo third with a 5-2 slate in Group A of the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena.
Quinto topscored with 15 markers, capped by the go-ahead basket, 66-64, and two free throws inside the last 22 seconds that sealed the Knights’ win.
Mcjour Luib added 14 points and Jomari Sollano posted a double-double of 11 markers and 13 rebounds for the Knights.
Adamson also turned back Emilio Aguinaldo College, 84-73, behind rookies Nico Capote, JD Tungcab and Papi Sarr in the other Group A match.
In Group B, Mapua blasted Lyceum, 81-65, to pick up its second victory in seven games.
The Blazers fell to sixth place at 3-4, while both the Generals and the Pirates skidded to their sixth loss in seven outings.
