Potential top pick Moala Tautuaa is already showing his potential even before he makes it to the pro league as the Fil-Tongan big man is the early frontrunner for the 2015 PBA D-League Foundation Cup MVP.

Leading Cebuana Lhuillier to the top spot, Tautuaa leads the league in scoring (20.22 points), second in rebounding (11.33 boards), in the top five for steals (1.67 steals), and in the top 15 for assists (3.4 dimes).

The big man finished second in the MVP race last conference to Hapee’s Bobby Ray Parks, and took Cagayan Valley to a runner-up finish in the Aspirants’ Cup.

Moving to the Gems camp definitely elevated the level of play in Cebuana, as the team racked up seven straight games to earn them an outright semis berth.

But Tautuaa is motivated to cop the big one this conference before he declares for the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft set in August.

“I want to win the big one. I don’t want what happened last conference to happen this time and I want to win a championship,” he said.

Also getting considerations for the MVP plum are Cagayan Gerry’s Don Trollano and Abel Galliguez, CafeFrance’s Maverick Ahanmisi, and AMA’s Jay-R Taganas. CC
