All’s well that end’s well.

As the confetti cleared and PLDT Home Ultera raised its championship trophy, one retired military official had some kind words for the competitor of the Philippine Army.

(Ret.) Major General Domingo Tutaan, former spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said both team gave it their best and there is no need for the Lady Troopers to sulk in defeat.

“It was a good game, PLDT gave it their best, Army gave it their best,” Tutaan said Sunday at San Juan Arena. “At the end, there’s only one team that will be crowned as champions.”

Tutaan was part of the Army legion cheering for the Lady Troopers as they duked it out with the Ultra Fast Hitters for five sets in the final match of the best-of-three series.

PLDT’s younger legs, however, prevailed over the experienced ones of Army.

Still, silver medals around the Lady Troopers’ necks are fine with Tutaan.

“Army, we’re the second placers…it’s for the love of the sport,” Tutaan, a sports-enthusiast during his younger days, said. “Everybody put their best foot forward.”

“Championship is with the PLDT and we congratulate them.” CC
