CHICAGO, United States – The Chicago Bulls introduced Fred Hoiberg as their new head coach Tuesday, just days after they fired Tom Thibodeau, who had guided them to the playoffs in each of his five seasons.
The US media reported that Hoiberg agreed to a five-year deal worth about $25 million. Hoiberg spent five seasons as head coach at Iowa State University.
The 42-year-old Hoiberg played for the Bulls from 1999-2003 as part of a 10-year NBA career that also included stints with Indiana and Minnesota.
The Bulls moved quickly to find a replacement for Thibodeau, who was fired last week amid friction with the front office.
