Volcanoes ready to erupt for gold
SINGAPORE—The Philippine Volcanoes rumbled closer to a golden eruption.
Unleashing its full strength, the PH rugby7 squad crushed Thailand and Singapore in dominating fashion Saturday to inch closer to the men’s title at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.
But Philippine Rugby Football Union director Matt Cullen said the team is still lacking in sharpness despite the two victories. The Filipinos are set to play Cambodia late yesterday.

“We should play Thailand for the (men’s) gold tomorrow,” said Cullen. But “we were rusty. Definitely [there is] room for improvement.”
The Volcanoes fired four tries to down Thailand, 24-10, in the opening match.
