Dy, Aguon headline PXC 48 card
Filipino fighter Rolando Dy seeks payback against Kyle Aguon of Guam in one of the two title bouts featured in PXC 48 on Saturday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Davao-born Dy dropped a controversial split decision to Aguon last year, allowing the Guamanian to wrest the bantamweight crown.
But Dy believes he is a much better fighter now as he focused on improving his wrestling and grappling skills to counter the reigning champion’s fighting style.
“I’ve worked hard to get better, but I’m not sure if Kyle is also the same fighter,” said Dy. “If he fights the same way, then I think I have a good chance.”
Cristiano Pitpitunge and Alvin Cacdac square off for the PXC flyweight crown in the co-main event that will be aired on a delayed basis at 11 p.m. on Sunday night on TV5.
The 25-year-old Pitpitunge, a policeman, holds a 7-3 win loss card. He faces a battle tested fighter in the California-based Cacdac.
