Talk ‘N Text beats Blackwater to snap 4-game skid

On Independence Day, Talk ‘N Text got free from the clutches of its horrendous skid and finally came away with a 98-91 victory over Blackwater Friday in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup at Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Snapping their four-game losing skid, the Tropang Texters are still on the outside looking in from the top eight with their 4-5 slate.

It was actually the subs who captained the second half comeback as Matt Ganuelas-Rosser poured in 11 of his 21 points in the payoff period to go with his nine rebounds, while Sam Dahgles had 15 markers and six boards.

TNT dominated the bench scoring, 60-32.

Larry Fonacier added 20 points in a 4-of-6 shooting from threes, one of which gave Talk ‘N Text its first lead of the game, 75-73, with 9:59 left in the fourth, a lead it would not surrender.

“We have to keep on working. We haven’t been playing very well, that’s what we’re doing right now,” said coach Jong Uichico, whose team had to dig itself back from as high as 16, 32-16, early in the second period.

He continued, “We have to take care of ourselves. We’re trying to correct some things. The rotation, how we can rotate that we don’t suffer too much on both ends of the floor and how they can play together.”

Brian Heruela led Blackwater with 21 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds, while Marcus Cousin got 16 markers in his PBA debut.

The Elite stay at the cellar with their 1-7 card.
