Globalport, TNT halt slide
GLOBALPORT put a foot in the quarterfinals of the PBA Governors’ Cup after running a ragged NLEX side to the ground, 108-80, Thursday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jarrid Famous scored 30 points and grabbed 24 rebounds and Terrence Romeo added 22 as the Batang Pier snapped a two-game slide to rise to 5-4 while dealing the Road Warriors their seventh defeat in nine games.
Asi Taulava, the ageless veteran, paced NLEX with 23 points, but the Road Warriors practically bowed out of contention after taking a third straight defeat flush on the chin.

Ranidel de Ocampo and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser hit big baskets in the stretch and helped Talk ‘N Text rally past Blackwater, 98-91, snapping the Tropang Texters’ four-game losing streak in the first game.
De Ocampo drained consecutive triples when the game hung in the balance, while Rosser tossed in 11 of his total in the fourth to help the Texters finish strong and get back in the groove with a 4-5 record.

“We started badly and it was good that we were able to bounce back,” said Talk ‘N Text coach Jong Uichico.
