Superv eyes second jewel of Triple Crown
SUPERV, long shot winner of the first leg of the Philippine Racing Commission’s Triple Crown series this year, goes for a repeat victory in the second leg set today at Philippine Racing Club’s Santa Ana Park in Naic, Cavite.
The second leg of the series for elite local-bred three-year-old thoroughbreds is held in honor of the late Tarlac congressman Enrique Cojuangco Sr., a longtime horseowner and breeder, who died recently.
The 11 other entries out to foil Superv’s bid in the 1,800m event are colts Breaking Bad, Cat Express, Diamond’s Best, Incredible Hook, Magnetism, Money Talks, Sky Hook and Wanderlust and fillies Court of Honor, Driven and Princess Meili.
Article continues after this advertisementPhilracom has allocated a P3 million prize for first to fourth places, with the winner to receive P1.8 million. Colts will carry a 54-kg handicap and the fillies 52 kg.
Superv (Safe in the USA out of Swinging Silver), owned and bred by Kerby Chua, stunned 13 other entries to snare the first leg of the TC last May 17 at San Lazaro Leisure Park.
