Tey Teodoro dropped the biggest bomb, nailing a clutch basketball to destroy Far Eastern University’s bronze medal hopes, 71-69, in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Preseason Premier Cup Sunday at San Juan Arena.

JRU had the possession with 11.6 seconds left in the game when Teodoro caught the ball at the top of the key, then he drove feet to the left elbow and finished with demoralizing floater with 1.9 seconds remaining.

“Knowing Tey, he wanted the big moment,” Heavy Bombers assistant coach Cholo Villanueva. “Tey is a baller.”

Villanueva admitted they drew two plays for Teodoro, one play involved the shooting guard going through screens, and the other an isolation play.

Teodoro chose the latter.

“Everyone, the coaches the players, trusts Tey.”

JRU had a seven point lead, 68-61, when Paolo Pontejos nailed a three-pointer from the left wing with 1:30 remaining.

Mike Tolomia, however, would put the clamps on the Heavy Bombers after his triple tied the game at 69-69 with 11.6 seconds remaining.

Teodoro was also the high-point man as he finished with 23 points while Ervin Grospe and Pontejos added 14 and 11 points apiece.

Achie Iñigo and Monbert Arong combined for 27 points to lead FEU. CFC
