WGAP second leg: Alabang, Tagaytay up

ALABANG  ruled Class A while Tagaytay Highlands struck back with a win, a runner-up and third place finishes in the 2015 Champion Infinity WGAP Circuit second leg at Riviera Golf and Country Club in Silang, Cavite recently.

Rita Horan scored 40 Stableford points at the hazard-laden Langer layout and drew 37, 34 and 31 points from Christine Naidoo, Marilyn Reyes and Jocelyn Garcia, respectively, as the Alabang ladies pooled a 142 and nipped Sta. Elena by one to clinch the Class A diadem.

Carina Ricamonte shot a 37, Rio Co carded a 36 and Therese Dabao and Elvira Liboro each fired a 34 for Sta. Elena’s 141 while Tagaytay, led by individual champion Hee Sun Sofia Kim’s 40 points, had 138 to place third.

It was Alabang’s second straight win in Class A of the eight-stage circuit organized by Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines and sponsored by Shell, Metro Pacific, Golf Depot. Many-time defending circuit champion Tagaytay ruled Class B although it needed to nip Canlubang in the countback with two net eagles to snare the crown with a 141 on Marissa Vergara’s 40, Virginia Bote’s 37 and Maripaz Domingo and Mely Leyeza’s identical 32s.

Forest Hills took the Class C diadem with a 155 against Tagaytay’s 150 behind individual champion Connie Mamaril’s 40 points.  Eagle Ridge scored a 145 for third place.
