CARL Bernard Bejasa trounced Lyrden Laborte, 21-8, 21-12, for the the boys’ under-15 crown to lead the march to the National Finals of the 2nd Sun Cellular National Juniors Badminton Tournament which ended its Visayas leg at Pohang Badminton Center in Bacolod City yesterday.
Less than an hour later, Bejasa teamed up with James Ryan Villarante in outlasting Justin Daniel Anglo and Sean Justin Regida de Jesus, 21-14, 21-12, for the U-15 boys’ doubles championship.
Kerr Longno also came out a double gold winner after ruling the boys’ U-19 singles and doubles where he partnered with Jaylord Nicor.
Longno turned back brother Kenneth, 21-10, 21-13, before joining hands with Nicor in besting Kennith Caracena and Kenneth Lengno, 21-13, 21-18.
“This is part of the MVP Sports Foundation’s efforts in helping strengthen the grassroots development program in badminton,” said Smart Sports’ Christopher Quimpo.
Also winning were Yana Ysabel Gasataya (girls’ U-19) and Catrina Marie Osden-Diana Carla Carino Yulo (girls’ U-19 doubles).
