At the rate Globalport guard Terrence Romeo is going, the PBA’s leading scorer among locals may also be named Best Player of the Conference in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Romeo is averaging 24.2 points per game through 10 games and is a close second to San Miguel Beer’s reigning MVP June Mar Fajardo in the overall statistical race.

But an individual award is far from Romeo’s mind.
“Hindi importante kung makuha mo yung BPC tapos wala naman yung team mo sa semis (Getting the BPC is not important if you don’t make the semis),” Romeo said after scoring 27 points and dishing out six assists in a 102-94 win. “Para sa akin mas gusto kong makapunta kami sa semis, makapaglaro kami dun ayoko ng BPC (I would rather make the semis and play there than winning the BPC).

“Gusto ko at importante manalo kami (I want us to win. That’s what’s important for us).”
And Romeo is getting what he wants right now with Globalport which, at 6-4, is in good position to seal a top four finish and a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
“Malaki chance namin makapunta sa top four kapag natalo namin ang Alaska pero malayo pa kami (We have a big chance to make it to the top four if we beat Alaska but we still have a long way to go).”
