Bruno Escalante, injury healed, to return to ring

REDWOOD CITY, California — “I am anxious to return to the ring!” stated Bruno Escalante of this city by way of Cebu, Philippines. “I have been training hard since my hand has been cleared by the doctor and I am ready to put it to the test.”

Bruno “Aloha Kid” Escalante 13-1-1 (6 KO) will return to the ring on Saturday, August 1, after over year layoff due to injury of his right hand. He will fight an opponent to be announced.

In his fight last April 5, 2014 at Cache Creek Casino Resort against Victor Ruiz, who was 14-2 (10 KO) at the time of the fight, Escalante defended his IBA Bantamweight Title for seven brave rounds with a broken right hand, and he still went on to win a unanimous decision over Ruiz.

After two surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy, Escalante is ready to return to the ring. “I have a lot of catching up to do! Can’t wait to be back and pick up where I left off,” Escalante said.

The show will also feature five more local fighters. Escalante vs TBA headlines a night of world-class professional championship boxing presented by Don Chargin Productions and Paco Presents Boxing. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., the first bell rings at 7:00 pm.

Tickets will be on sale soon, priced at $45, $55, $65 & 125, and will be available for purchase at foxrwc.com and PacoPresentsBoxing.com.

The weigh-in will take place on Friday, July 31 at the America’s Best Inn 1090 El Camino Real, Redwood City, CA 94063 and is free to the public. The official weigh-in time is 3:00 pm.
