HERBERT Chan and Christian Yu combined for a five-under 67 to capture the overall title in the recent 17th Masters Challenge at the tough Masters Course of the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club.
Chan and Yu bested Ricky Velasco and Richard Salcedo, who topped the Guest division, in the event co-organized by Immaculate Conception Academy batch 1994 and Southwoods Ladies chapter.
The tournament, presented by Contigo, Dental First and Samsung, raised funds for ICA Greenhills Scholarship Foundation.
Brixton Aw and Raymond Co posed a 68 for the Class A crown, John Lee and Tony Lin had a 74 for the Class B title and Lawrence Cobankiat and Wilson Tan ruled Class C with a 77.
Anvaya Cove, Smart, Security Bank, Asia United Bank, Standard Insurance, TaylorMade, Unilab, Mercedes-Benz and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf were gold sponsors.
Rusty Marcelo was sharp off the blue tees as he whacked 295 yards for the longest drive award while JD Chua (5 feet and 4 inches) and Winston Co (2 feet to the line) were acknowledged with the nearest to pin and most accurate drive.
