A photo of NBA player Dwyane Wade’s father wearing a Cleveland Cavaliers shirt sparked controversy on whether the Miami Heat star is leaving for another team.
The photo posted on Christopher Acevedo’s Instagram account (@christovedo) on June 22, 2015, shows Dwyane Wade Sr. in a Cavs shirt at a Miami church.
“Dwyane wade’s dad speaking at my church!! Happy father’s day everyone,” the caption read.
Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix tweeted about a “mutual interest” between Wade and the LA Lakers.
“While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per leagues sources,” Mannix said.
Wade has been with the Heat since the beginning of his career in 2003.
“Hard to see LA offering Wade a better chance to win than Miami, especially in the West. But it is LA, and they do have money to burn,” Mannix added.
And with Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant expected to play his final season, the possibility of Wade transferring is up in the air.
