Fajardo leads MVP, Governor’s Cup BPC race

It looks like San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo is holding onto the PBA MVP trophy.

Fajardo is poised to become the first back-to-back MVP in 14 years since Danny Ildefonso.

Ildefonso, Fajardo’s mentor, was back-to-back MVP in 2001.

Fajardo has average statistical points percentage of 36.7 percent across the three conferences as of May 5.

His nearest competitor is Talk N’ Text’s Jayson Castro, the Commissioners’ Cup Best Player of the Conference, who has 29.09 percent.

Fajardo also leads the race for the Governors’ Cup Best Player of the Conference with 35.1 average statistical points, with Globalport’s Terrence Romeo a close second with 34.9.

Romeo’s backcourt partner Stanley Pringle is poised to win the Rookie of the Year award with a statistical points percentage of 28.8 percent across the three conferences.

Another Batang Pier can take home an award for Best Import with Jarrid Famous collecting 60.4 statistical points in the Governors’ Cup.
