Philippines to host ITF Futures tennis tourney again

THE PHILIPPINES will again host two ITF men’s Futures tournaments to give the country’s players more chances  to play in the international pro circuit.

This was announced yesterday by Philippine Tennis Association vice president Randy Villanueva, who said the two events will be held in October.

Week 1 of the Futures will be held Oct. 5 to 11 at Manila Polo Club, while Week 2 set Oct. 12 to 17 at PCA courts will be known as the Philippine Columbian Association Open-ITF Futures 2.

The twin events will have a total cash prize of $15,000 each.

“This will give our players the chance to earn ITF ranking points and at the same time play top-level tournaments because we expect foreign players to come in,” said Villanueva.

The PH Futures will be held ahead of the International Premier Tennis League  second leg in November.
