Veteran Willie Torres showed he is far from racing retirement as he ruled the second leg of the 2015 Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring Car Championships Series recently at Clark International Speedway.
Coming out of a long absence, Torres bagged the premiere GT300 titles in both the morning’s Sprint and the GT Main Races.
The victory gave Torres a share of the top spot with kickoff-leg winner Veli-Matti Kaikkonen of Hafele Racing Team.
Torres posted his fastest time of two minutes and 14.527 seconds in the third lap of the rain-drenched, 15-lap GT Main Race.
In the GT200 division, Richmond dela Rosa strengthened his hold of the top spot with 115 points, followed by Walter Zamora and defending champion Paolo Mantolino.
Dindo de Jesus also triumphed over Patrick dela Rosa and NR Joaquin in the GT150 division, while Ivan Diaz sustained his perfect run in the GT100 after edging Edwin Rodriguez and Singaporean Joginder Sin.
