PBA slaps P50,000 fine, 1-game ban on Lim
Barangay Ginebra coach Frankie Lim was fined P50,000 and banned from the Gin Kings’ first game next season for hitting Alaska’s Calvin Abueva in the third quarter of their PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal game over the weekend.
Lim, who failed to take the Gin Kings past the quarterfinals in his very first PBA conference, was involved in an incident with Abueva along with Ginebra’s Orland Johnson and LA Tenorio during a furious Alaska comeback.
Ginebra played with command in the first three quarters until Abueva fell in front of the Ginebra bench after getting entangled with Johnson and pushed hard by Tenorio.

After a review of the game tape, Lim appeared to have laid a foot on the back of the fallen Alaska forward and slapped the side of his head.
The referees slapped technical fouls only on Lim, Tenorio, Johnson and Abueva for second motion after order was restored.
