Eight-division boxing world champion Manny Pacquiao is set to add another feather in his cap as he is officially the new team manager of the Letran Knights basketball team.
Fr. Vic Calvo, Letran’s representative to the management committee, said the deal between the Sarangani congressman has been brokered Wednesday night and Pacquiao will now be officially supporting the Knights’ campaign in the NCAA.

“Yes, he will sponsor the team,” he said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.
Currently, the deal puts Pacquiao in charge of the men’s basketball team but Calvo hopes that the support will also rub off to the whole athletics program.

Coach Aldin Ayo, who acted as an assistant to Pacquiao with Kia in the PBA, also confirmed the deal.
Ayo’s appointment as the head coach of the Knights last December ignited the rumor mill that Pacquiao was also well on his way to back the school in Intramuros.
Glenn Capacio, who was Pacquiao’s deputy with Kia in the 2015 Philippine Cup, is also with Ayo on the Letran bench.
The bulk of the Knights core also saw action in the preseason under the MP Hotel banner in the PBA D-League, which is owned by Pacquiao. IDL
