FILIPINO Davis Cup standout Treat Huey and American Scott Lipsky had no answer to the powerful game of Israel’s Jonathan Erlich and Germany’s Philipp Petzschner and lost, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), in the second round of the Wimbledon men’s doubles Thursday.
Erlich, who was Huey’s partner in several tournaments including the 2013 Australian Open, and Petzschner combined for nine aces en route to finishing with 19 winners in the two-hour, seven-minute match.
Erlich and Petzschner also converted two of their eight break point chances while saving seven break points.
The winners also made 76 percent of their first serves, and 63 percent of their second serves. Unlike in their opening round match, Huey and Lipsky struggled with their serves, making only 75 percent of their first delivery and 45 percent of their second serves. Marc Anthony Reyes
