Big events push PH sports tourism

/ 12:33 AM July 08, 2015

The tourism Promotions Board’s efforts to promote the country as a sports tourism hub got a shot in the arm last month with local and international events drawing huge crowds.

Different sports ranging from triathlon to football and motorsports were staged in June as part of the Visit the Philippines Year 2015 campaign.

The CamSur Watersports Complex hosted the Challenge CamSur 2015 that attracted international bets, following the staging of the Challenge Philippines Triathlon.

At SM Mall of Asia Arena, monster trucks took the spotlight with the staging of Monster Jam, while the Romblon 3 Islands Challenge was held in Romblon City. Windsurfing action shifted to Anilao, Batangas, for the Philippine Windsurfing Camp while the Run with Dad 2015 marathon was staged at Camp Aguinaldo Grandstand.
