Lee blames lack of defense for Rain or Shine semis loss

As Rain or Shine watched San Miguel Beer return to the PBA Finals, the Elasto Painters were left to ponder what happened.

Rain or Shine’s guard said it all came down to defense. Or a lack thereof.

“We really bungled on defense,” Lee said after losing Game Four, and the series, Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “There was no defense whatsoever.”

San Miguel Beer averaged 110.5 points per game in the series, and the lowest that Rain or Shine held the Beermen to was 101 points in Game One.

Lee said allowing 100-plus points every game is not exactly standard of defense, especially in the playoffs.
“When you give up 100-plus points in four games, that’s really bad defense,” Lee said. CFC
