Pacquiao confirms ring return, but sched rules out Mayweather rematch

Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao has made it known that he will return to the ring, but the schedule of his comeback dims the possibility of a rematch against undefeated American star Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Various websites have reported that Pacquiao has slated his return on 2016.

“I’m ready to fight, next year. I’m fine,” Pacquiao was quotes by websites as telling Viva.co.id.

Pacquiao and Mayweather fought last May, with the brash American taking home a unanimous victory that left several fans, most of who forked large sums for tickets and pay-per-view buys, disappointed.

Pacquiao has always said he is open to a rematch, while Mayweather has continuously ridiculed the shoulder injury that the Filipino ring icon said slowed him down during their megabout.

Mayweather has punched up another controversy after slapping a dummy that he referred to as Pacquiao in a video that has made its rounds over social media.

Pacquiao said he was disappointed by Mayweather’s latest antics but urged supporters to “understand” his rival, taking a dig at the latter’s past by reminding people he is an ex-convict. CFC
