After his uneventful year with the Los Angeles Lakers, Jeremy Lin will join the Charlotte Hornets where he plans to resurrect his game that brought forth the Linsanity phenomenon.

Lin announced on social media he’ll be out of the Lakers lineup for the 2015-2016 season and said he wanted to find the team where he would fit in.

Going into my first true free agency as an NBA player this off-season, the one thing that mattered to me the most was finding a team that would be a good fit for me,” Lin posted on Facebook. “I wanted to be on a team where I would be able to play freely and truly play the game I love with joy again. That has always been the most important thing to me.”

Lin exploded not only in the basketball scene but into the world consciousness during his time with the New York Knicks ushering in Linsanity when the undrafted point guard out of Harvard went into a tear and almost single-handedly put the Knicks into the playoffs during the absence of Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire.

After Linsanity fizzled out, Lin was traded to the Houston Rockets where he lost his starting position to Patrick Beverley and never found his groove as James Harden rose to stardom.

His time with the Lakers was not different as he soon found himself as the backup point guard to rookie Jordan Clarkson.

“My journey has never looked the way I (or anyone else) thought it would, but God has always worked things out for my good and I am confident that he will continue to do so,” Lin said on Facebook. “To the Lakers organization and the city of Los Angeles, thank you for your support this past season.”

Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported Lin and the Hornets agreed on a two-year $4 million-plus contract.

“I have no idea what is coming next, but I promise I will do everything in my power to contribute to this team and to improve as a player and as a person. Here’s to the next chapter!”
