Santos happy to take back seat to Reid, Fajardo in SMB offense
For a some Most Valuable Players, the notion of being put in a supporting role may be a tough pill to swallow.
Not for 2013 MVP Arwind Santos.
Santos said Wednesday he doesn’t mind being more of a support player to import Arizona Reid and 2014 MVP June Mar Fajardo.
“I’m perfectly happy with me being a support player,” Santo said who now receives less touches with Reid and Fajardo taking the bulk of the offense.
“Why would I force myself into a situation where there are other people who can do the job?”
As Reid shoulders the offensive load in one of the forward spots, Santos takes the defensive duties while spotting up for a few uncontested three-pointers.
Still, the one-time MVP is happy with what his two teammates have done in the Governors’ Cup Playoffs.
“I’m proud of those two,” Santos said.
