Toni Basas led a balanced Far Eastern University attack in a three-set disposal of University of Batangas, 25-20, 25-18, 25-10, Saturday in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Basas was the lone player in double-digits with 12 points while Mary Joy Palma added nine points for the Lady Tamaraws.
FEU started slow before finding its rhythm late in the opening set and never looked back.
“It’s normal because it’s our first game,” FEU head coach Shaq de los Santos of his team’s minor struggles early. “I’m happy that we won this game.”
Heather Guino-o and guest player Honey Royse Tubino had eight points each for the Lady Tams.
Cyren Montecer scored a team-high eight points for UB.
