1st Pilipinas Beach Water Polo tilt July 17 to 19

A total of nine teams including two from Hong Kong will see action in the 1st Pilipinas Beach Water Polo Tournament set July 17 to 19 at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club in Morong, Bataan.

Event organizer Dale Evangelista, a former national team member, said that holding an event in open water is a first in the country.

“We are doing this because of our great desire to promote the sport we love,” said Evangelista, a member of the silver-winning water polo team in the 2009 Laos SEA Games.

Competing in the men’s event are the Gerry’s Grill Marlins and Gerry’s Grill Dynamite, Sureshot Sportsville, Team RED and Hong Kong, while in the women’s are Sante Barley, Glass Solutions, Anvaya Cove and Hong Kong.
