Arellano routs V-League newcomer PUP
It’s initiation time in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference as Arellano University scalped Polytechnic University 25-17, 25-6, 25-12 in its opening match Sunday at San Juan Arena.
It was a virtual no-contest as the NCAA defending champions Lady Chiefs asserted their dominance on the Radicals.
Cristine Rosario led the Lady Chiefs with 10 points while Shirley Salamagos had seven.
PUP had no answer to Arellano’s relentless attack as the Lady Chiefs scored 35 off spikes.
Guest player Fritz Gallenero led PUP with six points.
Arellano joined Far Eastern University and National University as the 1-0 teams in Group A while PUP joins University of Batangas and the University of the Philippines in the bottom half.
