ABOUT 2,000 taekwondo practitioners will vie for honors in the 2015 PLDT Bro-MVP Sports Foundation National Poomsae Championships this Sunday at Rizal Coliseum.
Coming from various regions and Philippine Taekwondo Association chapters, the young bets will see action in four events, namely, individual colored belts and Blackbelt, Freestyle and Synchronized Poomsae.
Participants in poomsae, also known as forms, display attack and defense techniques against imaginary opponents.
Among the tournament sponsors are Smart Communications Inc., Milo, Philippine Sports Commission and Meralco.
Taekwondo enthusiasts, specially children, are invited to watch the day-long competition. Matches will start at 9 a.m.
Among the entries: ARRM, CAR, Caraga, National Capital Region, Central Gymnasium, Powerflex, Ateneo, San Sebastian, University of the Philippines, San Beda, De La Salle Zobel, DLSU, More, Obelisk Gymnasium, Team Baguio, Pangasinan, Cebu, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, UTA-Tigers, PNP and AFP.
