For Romeo Travis, the only thing that stopping Alaska from winning a game in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals is that lack of finishing kick.
“We’re there in the last two games, but we have to finish better. It just takes one, one win at a time. We need to worry about Friday and hopefully, we play hard and play together like what we’ve been pulling together,” he said.
Travis admitted that there were times when Alaska’s offense was hampered by the players’ overeagerness to deliver which instead leads to bad shots and turnovers.
“We started playing hero ball in the end. We’re not playing Alaska ball, we don’t share the ball like we used to. I just think we have to be better and we’ll be better,” he said.
The Best Import believes the key to turn this series around, even if the Aces are down 0-3 in a best-of-seven series, is to just handle the end game better.
“We’ve been playing the same way. We just got to finish the games better, we had a lot of breakdowns in the fourth and in the last two games, our fourth quarter defense has been horrendous and our offense has been worse. We just got to be better all around. We just got to finish games. That’s it.”
“We’re disappointed in ourselves because we’re a good team. We earned the right to be here, we deserve to be here, and we need to finish the game,” he said. CFC
