PBA great Benjie Paras confirmed that there have been talks with him and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) regarding Kobe Paras’ possible participation in the 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manila Masters in August.
“Pinaguusapan namin ng SBP (We’re talking about it with SBP.),” said the only PBA rookie-MVP.

However, the biggest hurdle in the fruition of that might be the younger Paras’ commitments in the United States.
Currently, Kobe is seeing action in the Adidas Uprising Camp with his AAU squad Compton Magic and has also been invited to other training camps.
“’Yun nga kasi may AAU tournaments pa s’ya sa States at may mga camps pang sinasalihan. Titignan pa namin kung pwede sa schedule n’ya ‘yung 3×3,” dad Benjie said.
(He still has AAU tournaments in the States and he still has to attend other camps. We’re still looking at his schedule if we can still fit the 3×3 event.)

But if it were solely up to him, Benjie said he would love to see his son don the national colors in the 3×3 World Tour, just like he did in the under-18 competitions.
“Syempre naman, national team ‘yun eh (Of course, it’s the national team.),” he quipped. “Anything for the country.” IDL
