After two sluggish outings, JRU finally tasted victory once again, blasting EAC, 67-47, Friday in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball tourney at San Juan Arena.
The Heavy Bombers broke free from the Generals in the third quarter, outscoring EAC 16-7 in the period to take a 51-35 lead. The rout then began
as JRU took a lead as high as 24, 63-39, courtesy of an Abdel Poutouochi basket midway in the payoff period.
“The players wanted this game. We had a strong start and a strong finish,” coach Vergel Meneses said in praise of his boys’ performance.
