MIAMI – (UPDATE 2) Eighth seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and former world no. 1 Maria Sharapova will square off in the finals of the $9 million WTA and ATP Masters hardcourt tournament here.
Azarenka beat Russian third seed Vera Zvonareva 6-0, 6-3 while Russia’s Sharapova, seeded 16th, rallied for a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory over 21st-seeded German Andrea Petkovic in the other semi-final.
This is the third time that Sharapova has reached the Miami final.
