Brian Shaw set to arrive in Manila next week
Following suit of NBA coaches who visited the country, it will be coach Brian Shaw’s turn to impart the lessons of the NBA as he visits Manila next week.
Shaw, a former head coach for the Denver Nuggets and has served as a deputy with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Indiana Pacers, tips off NBA FIT Week on July 29 at the Gatorade Hoops Center where he will conduct basketball clinics in this year’s Gatorade NBA Training Center.
Article continues after this advertisement“I look forward to visiting Manila and witnessing first-hand the passion of the Filipino players and coaches,” he said. “The Philippines has produced great basketball talent, and I’m excited to share my knowledge with the participants to help them take that next step.”
This is the second year the NBA will conduct the Gatorade NBA Training Center in the country, where instructors in the fields of basketball, fitness, and conditioning share their knowledge among other Filipino athletes and coaches.
Expected to appear before Shaw will be LA Tenorio, and collegiate stars Jeron Teng, Gelo Alolino, Von Pessumal, Mike Tolomia, and Kevin Ferrer.

Aside from the training camp, NBA FIT Week will also feature an NBA Cares clinic with Project Pearls on July 30 in Bocaue, Bulacan, and the NBA FIT Adi Nation Skills Camp on July 31, where varsity players aged 9-to-13 will show their wares in front of Shaw. CFC
