Champions Beermen give back to fans in victory party

After their four-game sweep of the Alaska Aces in the 2015 PBA Governor’s Cup, the San Miguel Beermen celebrated their victory with their supporters on Tuesday night.

Hundreds of fans freely interacted with their idols during their victory party at the San Miguel Corporation compound in Ortigas as the Beermen signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Loud cheers and chants echoed inside the compound as all were excited to greet and personally congratulate the Beermen.

The night was filled with music, celebration, and excitement.

Butch Huliganga, a Beermen fan since he was seven years old, said she was happy that the “glory days” of San Miguel has come back.

“Ever since I was a kid, I have been an SMB fan. The glory days of San Miguel re back so I’m really happy,” he said in Filipino.

Jenine Bolivar, also a Beermen fan, said her whole family supports the team.

“My husband is such a big fan. Even my kid has also become a fan so we’re really happy, Bolivar said.

Beermen players took the time to thank their fans for their unwavering support.

“To the fans of San Miguel, thank you. I hope you continue to support us in the coming conferences,” Jun Mar Fajardo, who won his second straight most valuable player  award, said.

Arwind Santos also expressed his gratitude to their loyal supporters.

“I always thank and love them especially those who trusted San Miguel,” Santos said.

He extended his appreciation to their fans who exerted their efforts to watch them live during the final games.

“To the fans who exert the effort even though it isn’t easy for them. Of course not all of them are rich, some of them only live simple lives but they give time just to see and support us and buy tickets. We can’t say anything but thank you and God Bless,” he said.

Fajardo and Santos both believed that teamwork paved the way for them to win another championship.

“We’re so happy and blessed to end the season with a title. We were focus as a team and the results were great,” Fajardo said.

Santos said the team’s determination made a difference during the finals.

“This is a result of a trust and brotherhood and our desire to win. It’s really great to win a championship. Really sweet feeling,” he said. CFC
