Fajardo looking to rest due to nagging foot pain

June Mar Fajardo is now feeling the effects of the grueling Philippine basketball calendar.

The Cebuano giant admitted that his plantar fascia on both feet have been hurting ever since the Governors’ Cup semifinals, raising concerns of him missing the next Philippine team tour of duty.

“Nananakit na nga eh (It has been hurting.),” he said.

Fajardo has been playing non-stop ever since turning pro in 2012, with national team stints peppering his PBA offseason schedule.

Though he had a successful third season which culminated in winning his second title this year, the back-to-back MVP said that his main concern as of the moment is to just rest.

“Gusto ko muna magpahinga (I just want to rest.),” said Fajardo, whose Cebu homecoming is temporarily put on hold until the post-championship activities are done.

But what about his Gilas stint? Fajardo remained realistic.

“Kung tatawagin,” he said. “Bugbog na bugbog na nga ako eh, pero paghahandaan naman natin yun eh. Tiwala lang sa sarili.”
