“Sabi ko, coach, baka kaya natin mag-Grand Slam (I said, ‘Coach maybe we can get the Grand Slam.’)” Ang said, referring to Beermen coach Leo Austria.
Fajardo admitted that getting three titles in one season is not easy but hardwork and teamwork would make the difference for the Beermen.
“Di naman ganun kadali yung grandslam. Kailangang pagtrabahuhan talaga yun. Pero kung pagsisikapan namin, walang impossible,” he said.
(It’s not easy to get a Grand Slam. We really need to work hard for it. But we will strive for it. Nothing is impossible.)
Santos said he hopes that fans would remain supportive of the team whether they get the Grand Slam or not.
“Sana wag silang mawawala. Sana lagi silang nakasuporta sa San Miguel nasa taas man kami o nasa baba. Sana lagi kayong nandiyan. Hindi lang sana sa tagumpay namin sila makasama, kahit sana sa kabiguan nandiyan sila. Maraming salamat sa inyo at wag kayo bibitaw,” he said.
(I hope they don’t go away. I hope they always support San Miguel whether we’re on top or at the bottom. I hope you (the fans) are always there. I hope they stay through good times and bad. Thank you to everyone and please don’t let go.)
