Sureshot sinks HK side, rules water polo tilt

Sureshot Sportsville pipped Hong Kong, 12-8, to top the 1st Pilipinas Beach Water Polo Tournament at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club in Bataan recently.

Sureshot, led by former national team member Dale Evangelista and guest Italian player Andrea Tringali, proved too classy for the visitors.

Evangelista and Tringali drew strong support from teammates Tani Gomez Jr., Norton Alamara, Ricardo Dilapdilap and Aldo Tong in the three-day tournament backed by Anvaya Cove, Sureshot Sportsville, Sante Barley, Gerry’s Grille, Gardenia and official transport partner Diamond Rent a Car.

Hong Kong, the only foreign team in the event, settled for the silver medal.

In the women’s division, Hong Kong won, 11-5, over the Anvaya Cove Sirens composed of the Tibby sisters Sachi and Kunti, Christine Hipol, Bea Garrido and Danyca Evangelista.

“It’s mission accomplished for us in terms of holding the event,” said Sachi Tibby, head of the organizing team under Optimum Sports.

Team RED downed the Marlins, 18-12, for the bronze medal in men’s play, while the Sante Barley Sirens routed Team Glass Solutions, 20-8, for the women’s bronze medal.
