Kenyans rule bay Clean-up Run

ELIUD Kering, Jackson Chirchir, and David Kipsang—running mere seconds apart— clinched a 1-2-3 finish by Kenyan runners in the 21K race of the recent Manila Bay Clean-Up Run.

Mary Grace de los Santos, Susan Chepkwony, and Christable Martes topped the women’s race of the cause-oriented event that lured thousands of runners.

Richard Salano and Criselyn Jaro ruled the 10K races with Ruel Suazo and Jujet de Asis finishing second and third, respectively, while Janice Tawagin and Luisa Yambao followed Jaro home in the women’s race.

The event was a project of Manila Broadcasting Company, in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay and with the support of Hapee Toothpaste, Bayad Center, Travel Book, Dok Alternatibo Mix 10 Coffee, M. Lhuillier, and Enervon. The races kicked off the 76th anniversary of MBC’s flagship station DZRH.

Other podium finishers: 5K Men—Kevin Capampangan, Rustom Nava, Carlito Fantilaga; 5K Women—Mary Ann Crishelle Perez, Cellie Rose Jaro, Jhanine Eve Mansueto; 3K Men—Elbren Veri, Wenlie Maulas, Rowell Hulleza; 3K Women—Lovielyn Pamarian, Feiza Jane Lenton, Joida Gagnao.
