Amy’s blazed through the group stages of Philippine Super Liga Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup as it romped Philips Gold, 21-18, 21-12, on Saturday at SM By the Bay.
Sam Dawson tapped in a soft volley to maintain her and partner Marleen Cortel’s perfect 2-0 record in Group A as they notched a quarterfinals record.
Despite the loss, Philips Gold joined Amy’s in the quarterfinals with a 1-1 record.
Dawson and Cortel had to stave off the persistent duo of Rossan Fajardo and Aileen Abuel especially in the first set as the latter continued to poke the defense of the Amy’s duo.
