“If we limit the opponent’s score below 70, we have a big chance of winning,” said JRU coach Vergel Meneses. “We got our old defense back and it’s a big thing that (Teodoro) is now taking charge.”

The Heavy Bombers outscored the Blazers, 24-8, in the second period and even extended the lead to 25, 58-33, after a trey from Jordan dela Paz with 8:12 remaining in the fourth.

JRU, the league’s best defensive team, limited St. Benilde to the second lowest output this season after forcing EAC to score only 47 points in their duel two weeks back.

JR Ongteco paced the Blazers (1-5) with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Fons Saavedra also got 10 markers. CFC
