Marcio Lassiter could skip Gilas duties, too
Marcio Lassiter, the San Miguel Beer gunner whose silky perimeter touch helped the Beermen notch their 21st franchise title in the recent PBA Governors’ Cup, is reportedly not available for national team duties, sources told the Inquirer Tuesday.
Lassiter, a source said, is in the US to attend to his ailing mother.
It wasn’t yet clear if national coach Tab Baldwin has been informed of the Lassiter situation.
Lassiter’s looming pullout brings to four the number of Gilas candidates from the SMC group who may miss the Fiba Asia championship in China.
Beerman June Mar Fajardo, the league’s reigning two-time MVP, is dealing with plantar fasciitis, Star’s Marc Pingris is reportedly set for a vacation in France and has volunteered his slot while Ginebra’s LA Tenorio has already begged off due to fatigue and drop in form. CFC
