Mosley wants Mayweather anew
The Sugar is keeping up with the times.
Former boxing world champ Shane Mosley has tweeted his intention to have a second crack at Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“Mayweather don’t want to take on Amir Khan then Mosley will,” he said on Twitter. “Anyone who wants these hands can get it.”
When asked who he thinks he should fight, the 43-year-old responded once more with a tweet directed to Mayweather.
He wrote, “It would be Mayweather. Because I know I can beat him this time. Or die trying. Either way it would be TBFE (the best fight ever). #Legacy”
Mosley has an argument. Though he lost via unanimous decision in their 2010 bout, Mosley unloaded a barrage of power punches which almost sent the undefeated Mayweather down to the canvas in the second round.
However, he has to think about Ricardo Mayorga first with their match set on Aug. 29 in what is seemingly one of his final fights before retiring.
Mayweather, meanwhile, is set to return to the ring in September, though no opponent has been named yet.
Mosley, who is 49-7-1, also sounded off on Twitter a tirade on a number of fighters, including Amir Khan (“Everyone knows I will shatter Khan’s jaw”), undefeated Kell Brook (“Man, Kell Brook didn’t want to spar me”), and Adrien Broner (“Ok. Will fight anyone but Broner. I don’t want to be responsible for that kids death. You saw what (Shawn) Porter did”).
