UKRAINIAN pole vault legend Sergey Bubka is set to arrive in Manila on Monday to seek the support of Filipino athletics officials in his bid to win the presidency of the International Association of Athletics Federation on Aug. 19 in Beijing. Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association president Philip Ella Juico said Bubka’s visit to the country is the six-time world champion’s gesture to help boost athletics here. Bubka helped send Filipino star John Obiena to IAAF Training Center in Italy last year.
