National University ensured its slot in the quarterfinals of the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference with a masterful win over Polytechnic University of the Philippines, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15, in the group stages Sunday at San Juan Arena.
It was the Lady Bulldogs’ third win in four matches while the Lady Radicals are still winless in four games.
NU head coach Edjet Mabbayad was pleased with his team’s game especially limiting their errors in receiving the opponents’ services.
“We actually talked about minimizing our errors in service receives, and I’m glad we did just that,” Mabbayad, whose team only committed 17 errors compared to PUP’s 23, said.
Still, Mabbayad wants the Lady Bulldogs to improve their blocking and to continue to polish receiving the opponents’ services.
Jaja Santiago led NU with 12 points while Jorelle Singh added 11.
Syra Romo led the winless PUP with 10 points while Lourdes Clemente had nine. CFC
