“Today was a bit different from our previous games. We tried to play differently and despite us being down in the standings, we didn’t get discouraged,” said coach Gabby Velasco. “We tried to play as a different Benilde team and today, we did it.”

St. Benilde jumped to an early lead before erecting a 21-point advantage numerous times before the end of the third period. Bradwyn Guinto tried to trim the lead down to as low as 13, 70-57, with nine minutes left to play, but the balanced attack from Blazers once again helped them break away and end the game on a 22-point spread.

Guinto finished with 16 points, seven coming in the payoff period, and 16 rebounds for the Stags (1-6), while Jamil Ortuoste wound up with 13. CFC
