On the heels of a successful staging of the 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manila Masters last weekend, coach Eric Altamirano was delighted with the country’s performance in the meet.
“I’m very happy with our performance even though we didn’t win the championship,” he said.

Manila North finished runner-ups to world champions Novi Sad Al Wahda in the Finals, while Manila West made it to the semifinals of the tournament.
And for Altamirano, it’s a welcome development for the budding discipline of 3-on-3 basketball.
“For the two teams to make it to the semifinals, it’s a great feat because the competition is really stiff,” he said.

Altamirano also commended the players’ dedication despite limited preparation, saying that it showcased the Filipinos’ passion for the sport.
“The players really showed their heart, especially this Manila North team which thrived on effort and hustle. They don’t rely too much on the outside shots but it’s their effort which made the biggest difference,” he said.
By advancing to the Finals, the Manila North team comprised of Calvin Abueva, Vic Manuel, Troy Rosario, and Karl Dehesa punched a ticket to the 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Finals in Abu Dhabi on October. CFC
